He volunteered in July 1915 and two months later landed in France, where he was in action in the battles of LOOS, PLOEGSTEERT, the SOMME, ARRAS and YPRES. He gave his life for King and Country in the fighting at CAMBRAI in November 1917.
He was entitled to the 1914-15 Star and the General Service and Victory medals.

Volunteering at the commencement of hostilities, he proceeded to GALLIPOLI in April 1915 and was engaged in heavy fighting in many parts of the line. After the Evacuation of the Peninsula, he was sent to SALONIKA and fought in many engagements on the VARDAR and DOIRAN fronts. Later, owing to ill health, he was  invalided to ALEXANDRIA and died there in September 1915

Volunteering in August 1914, he eventually proceeded to the Western Front in July 1916 and immediately went into action at the battle of the SOMME. Later he took part in the battle of YPRES and in the Retreat of 1918 but unfortunately was killed at METEREN on July 19th 1918

Son of Joseph and Winifred Gardner, of 14, Hyde View, Grey St., Longsight

In August 1914 he was mobilised, proceeding a month later to Egypt and went into action on the Suez Canal and in the desert. In April 1915 he was sent to GALLIPOLI and fought in the three battles KRITHIA and also SUVIA BAY. After the Evacuation he was transferred to France, where he was in heavy fighting at LOOS, ALBERT, the SOMME, ANCRE, MESSINES, YPRES and CAMBRAI and was killed in action during the second battle of CAMBRAI on September 27th 1918

Volunteering in September 1914, he proceeded overseas a year later. Whilst serving on the Western Front, he took an active part in important engagements at LOOS, VERMELLES, VIMY RIDGE, ANCRE, the SOMME, BULLECOURT and was unhappily killed in action at MESSINES in June 1917.

He volunteered in April 1915 and in August of that year was drafted to GALLIPOLI, where he took part in the landing at SUVIA BAY and saw much severe fighting. In December 1915 he was invalided home suffering from dysentry, but on his recovery was sent to the Western Front. he fell in action in the Advance on the SOMME on August 4th 1916 and was buried near ALBERT.

He volunteered in April 1915 and in the December of the same year proceeded to Egypt, where he served on the SUEZ CANAL until March 1917. He was then transferred to the Western Front and there after seeing heavy fighting at NIEUPORT, LA BASSEE and many other places was severely wounded in action in March 1918. He unhappily died of his wounds in the following month.

He volunteered in January 1915 and was drafted to France in July of the following year. In this theatre of war, he saw active service on the ANCRE front and took part in the battles of ARRAS, VIMY RIDGE, MESSINES, YPRES, the SOMME and CAMBRAI. He was reported missing but it was later discovered that he had been taken prisoner during the second battle of the SOMME in March 1918 and died from his wounds on October 23rd 1918

Volunteering in September 1914, he served on Home Defence duties for upwards of two years and in July 1916 embarked for France. Whilst in this theatre of war, he was in action with his Battalion in several engagements, including those of the SOMME offensive, and was taken prisoner at OPPY WOOD on May 11th 1917. He died in captivity a week later.
He was entitled to the General Service and Victory medals.
